Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Hooray for those of us who have a little money to shop.

Yup, and Friday is supposed to be the biggest shopping day of the year!

I wonder? Credit cards and shopping?

I am afraid the merchants are going to be hurting. Tomorrow will tell.

I have friends and family who plan to venture out tomorrow.  I will do my shopping online this year--which isn't unusual for me.  However I'm glad to see that the online retailers will be offering big discounts as well as the actual retail outlets.

I don't expect this season to be a banner one for merchants, but for those who are able to spend, they'll be spending less for the same products offered at higher prices in the last year.

      Yup, Angel.
The stores are reported as filling up, but I have seen some reports that people are not buying that much. Shopping on line is a whole lot safer than trudging around in the crowd. My honey loves to shop, so I get to abstain from that need.

I read in the Macon Telegraph this a.m. that the owners of Malls and Shopping centers around the country are in phase one of an apparent collapse. They will be defaulting on their leases and loans which have been sold to hedge funds and foreign entities.

This is the beginning of something nobody has ever seen in this country. I remember well the growth of hundreds of malls and shopping centers in California, Texas, Florida and Georgia. The financing for this development was so complex then and now it is beyond imagination.

We've had malls failing here in Nashville where there is still a lot of money.  One is revitalizing itself by moving the local branch of the library to the mall and the other is selling retail space to medical offices and clinics.  I think business will continue, but in new form.

      Yup, Angel_C,

We're in for it this time. More debt is not the answer. It is time to pay the piper!
